CHEMISTRY CLASS of Ms. Ramos
1. Harmful Substances in Water: This lesson allowed students to think of the harmful substances that could be mixed with water as it runs through the connected systems. Students also identified the substances that could be found in the schoolyard. Students then traced the path these substances take into the soil, vegetation, surface system, and body of water.

ART CLASSES of Ms. Kramvi and Mr. Goggins (10th-11th grade)
2. Giant Sculptures from Recycled Materials: Ms. Kramvi and Mr. Goggins Art students are engaged in designing giant sculptures from recyclable materials collected in the school. These artworks are created from paper collected from the classrooms, plastic bottles, and newspapers used by Journalism class. The finished products will be displayed around the school building.

1. Disposal Procedure to Protect People and the Environment: This chapter discussed safe lab
procedures, correct tool usage, and the proper disposal of computer components
and supplies. This lesson familiarized students with many of the tools
used to build, service, and clean computer and electronic components. This chapter taught students how to properly dispose or recycle used printer toner kits and
printer cartridges. This also taught students proper disposal of Chemical Solvents and Aerosol Cans used to clean computers. Students learn how and where to dispose of the chemicals and solvents used to clean computers. Below are some important points students learn in this chapter.
- Never dump chemicals or solvents down a sink or dispose of them in a drain that connects to public sewers.
- The cans or bottles that contain solvents and other cleaning supplies must be handled carefully. Make sure that they are identified and treated as special hazardous waste. For example, some aerosol cans explode when exposed to heat if the contents are not completely used.
